How Use Again Screen Glass Protector

How to Re-use a screen protector (and remove dust from the sticky side)

  1. Nickexp , October ii, 2015 :
Why I made this tutorial: Ok- and so basically I had this annoying bubble on my tempered glass screen protector. It had in the center of it what looks like a little chip from the glass, which I later on found out after removing the screen protector was dust. And then- to make clean it I used the micro-fibre material. Big mistake. All of the bits of dust on it but got stuck to the sticky side of the screen protector, so I'll simply walk people though how to practice information technology correct and clean dust off without, well, adding more- because when I reapplied it the showtime time information technology was even worse.

Disclaimer: This tutorial was written based off of my feel with a Tempered Drinking glass screen protector- non certain how well it works with a normal one, if anyone tries it with a normal plastic one delight let me know how it goes, but information technology should work the aforementioned.
    Tutorial:
    1.
So first you'll want to remove your screen protector- the more dust free the expanse, the better. I'd recommend turning off whatsoever fans and doing information technology at a make clean workspace/desk-bound/any. (If for some reason you're screen protector is dust free afterwards removal- skip to step six)

    2. At this signal you'll need sticky record (whatsoever blazon volition piece of work- I heard you demand to use packing record simply normal office record worked fine, if not ameliorate, for me and is more readily bachelor).

    3. Now sticky tape the not-mucilaginous side down so that when removing the strips of record ane by one from the other side, it won't lift off of the table/workspace and y'all won't have to utilize your hands to agree it downwards, getting it dirty and defeating the whole point of doing this in the first place.

    4. Now place a strip of gluey tape across the sticky side of the screen protector, make sure it's really stuck t the screen protector, then skin it off. Make sure that you do this over and over, until you take gotten the whole of that side. This will safely remove all dust, fingerprints and other things from the viscous side of the screen (and the non-sticky side, just the normal side the micro-fibre textile is easier to apply on that side as it has no stickiness to grab the small bits of it that can come off).

    v. Once y'all've done this beyond the whole of the side, check for whatsoever remaining grit, if there is whatever, but reapply tape there and peel information technology off.

half dozen. Make sure yous're devices screen is clean, specifically of grit and pocket-sized particles that will crusade air bubbles- and fingerprints and smudges that will just be abrasive. Also y'all can remove the tape from the non-gluey side of the screen protector that was belongings it down, as it is no longer needed.

    7. Now you tin can reapply the screen protector, if it isn't sticky enough to stick- in that location are multiple ways around this. I didn't run across it every bit the gluey tape actually added stickiness (y'all may want to endeavour that if you skipped to pace half dozen), simply evidently in a room full of steam you can do a "dry install", but the steam method doesn't sound equally expert, and I experience similar it would probably fog up the screen protector a scrap, plus I don't feel like putting my phone in a steamy room, and so only exercise this if the other method doesn't work.

viii. Now utilise the tool that OnePlus provided (or if y'all don't accept that, a ruler may work simply your hands is fine) to push air bubbles off to the side and out, if ane won't get and it looks like there is like a chip in the screen protector, that is probably dust, so restart if you want to get rid of information technology and pushing information technology off won't piece of work.

Savor your now-make clean screen protectors without whatever bubbles! I hope this guide helped, if you lot need assistance or I wasn't clear enough please mail below and I volition get back to yous ASAP.

What happened? You don't need whatsoever special record or anything- just normal office tape is what I used. Information technology should be able to be peeled off (make y'all you have some hanging off to grab information technology by). I just did information technology 1 strip at a time and it worked fine.

EDIT: Also- this tutorial was based off of my feel with the tempered glass screen protector- forgot to mention that, added it to the thread and made some artful changes that will hopefully brand information technology easier to read.

I heard people was just washing them with soap :D

You do not want any gum on your sticky or unsticky side... it reduces visibility and might reduce the impact capability...

Then easier is to buy a new one... it cost non that much... a tempered drinking glass can be constitute ~$v...

That's you you use sticky tape- the glass looked just as clean every bit when I got information technology. As long as the gummy tape isn't filthy it's all good, and the screen protector is just as glutinous as it is out of the box. Plus why buy a new i just considering yous have a few air bubbling? This is just an alternative to them- apparently if the screen protector is damaged you need a new one.

  14. Nickexp , October 2, 2015 :
You saying my tutorial works or advising people to get an expert? I'm confused. lol

  15. pgidia , October 2, 2015 :
To take help from expert rather than trying on own ;)

  16. Nickexp , Oct 2, 2015 :
Aye- merely it is expensive for where I live, plus why bother? Simply to get rid of some air bubbles? Not worth it- information technology's just and so easy to do this, it took me like 10 minutes (I was working out how to do it as I went) and it worked fine, the screen protector is ameliorate placed and simply as (if not more) sticky than before, so no damage done.

  17. Nickexp , Oct 2, 2015 :
Don't have one- simply invite begging on threads that accept nothing to practice with invites won't get you one, but saying.
